Mission Statement

Bay Area Pax Christi seeks to make presentGod's reign in our midst by modeling Jesus' way of non-violence andmercy in pursuit of justice. We believe it is essential to root outthe violence in ourselves in order to bring about the transformationof society. This process is nurtured and challenged within smallfaith communities committed to prayer, study, andaction.

Goals of PaxChristi

• Spread the gospel message of non-violence to diverse Catholic constituencies
• Build a curriculum of peace studies and conflict resolution for use in parishes and schools
• Sponsor periodic speaker/film series that explore and promote a faith rooted in non-violence
• Hold biannual retreats and days of recollection
